Trigger and action mistakes I see most

From my CSM days, these are the setups that most often made someone think a workflow was broken when it was doing exactly what it was told.

Premium triggers and actions

Some triggers and actions are premium and billed per execution. HighLevel's premium features article names Inbound Webhooks, Custom Webhooks, Google Sheets, Slack, Marketplace Apps and LC Apps as examples, and says the agency turns premium features on in Agency Settings, Company, Workflow - Premium Features, and can rebill usage to clients.

The Premium and Usage-billed labels in this list appear only where the linked Help Center article says so. An entry without a label may still be premium in your builder, so check the badge there before building a high-volume workflow.

Estimates, not guarantees. Descriptions are my own short summaries, not HighLevel's wording, and HighLevel changes names, categories and pricing often. The linked Help Center article and your own builder are the final word.

FAQ

How many workflow triggers and actions does HighLevel have?

This reference lists 72 triggers, 133 actions and 23 app integrations, taken from HighLevel's Help Center on 30 Oct 2026. The builder can show more than the Help Center documents, such as triggers and actions from Marketplace apps you install, and HighLevel adds new ones often.

What is the difference between a workflow trigger and an action?

A trigger is the event that starts a workflow, such as a form submission or a tag being added. Actions are the steps that run after it, in order, such as sending an SMS, waiting a day, or updating a field.

Can one workflow have more than one trigger?

Yes. You can add several triggers to one workflow, and each one starts the workflow on its own when its conditions are met, so a contact can enter through any of them.

Which workflow actions cost extra?

Premium triggers and actions are charged per execution. HighLevel's premium features article names Inbound Webhook, Custom Webhook, Google Sheets, Slack, Marketplace Apps and LC Apps, and lists a standard rate of $0.01 per premium execution after 100 free lifetime executions per eligible sub-account. Several AI actions are premium too. This page flags 36 entries where the linked Help Center article says so.

Why is my HighLevel workflow not firing?

Check that the workflow is published, that the trigger filters match the contact, and whether Allow Re-entry is off for a contact who has already been through it. The execution logs on the workflow show what ran and why a contact stopped.

Where is the official list of HighLevel workflow triggers?

HighLevel keeps a triggers list article and a complete actions list in its Help Center, plus a page for most individual triggers and actions. When this page was checked, the triggers list article asked for a login, so the triggers here come from their individual public Help Center articles.
